At Vogue Dental, we want to ensure every patients’ visit here with us is a comfortable one, which is why we offer sedation.
With sedation, we can help nervous and anxious patients overcome their fears and anxieties over visiting the dentist. We have a variety of sedation options available, all of which can help place the patient into a dream-like state, so that they are relaxed and unaware throughout.
In this way, we’ve been able to help patients get past their fears of the dentist and receive the treatment they need for the smile of their dreams. Our trained practitioners are able to provide oral and inhalation sedation in-practice, and we can arrange for a specialist seditionist to visit us in order to perform intravenous sedation if needed.

Questions you may have about this treatment
Sedation uses medication to help patients relax, leaving them conscious but comfortable throughout a treatment. At Vogue Dental, we can offer intravenous (IV) sedation, as well as oral and inhalation sedation (sometimes also known as ‘happy air’).
Sedation is suitable for most patients, although we will ensure that it is suitable for every patient who requests or needs it. We often use sedation for patients who are nervous about visiting the dentist, or about a particular treatment, and have helped many of them overcome their fears and phobias this way. It’s also commonly used in treatments that are long or complex, such as implant treatments.
IV sedation is administered intravenously and must be carried out by a trained anaesthetist or seditionist, which we can arrange for at Vogue Dental. It is often used in longer treatments, or those that are more complex as it puts the patient into a deeper state of relaxation.
Oral and inhalation sedation can be carried out by our trained team members here at the practice. It is these types of sedation that we most often use on our more nervous patients, as they can help you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout. We will help determine which of these sedation options are most suitable for you and your needs at a consultation.
Both IV sedation and oral sedation require a friend or family member to accompany you home. If we use inhalation sedation or ‘happy air’ for your treatment, then you are welcome to return to your day as normal, as the recovery time is much faster.
While all three sedation techniques have slightly different effects, most patients report feeling like they are drifting off in a warm comfortable bed. Many report that they do not even remember the treatment time.
